“Excellence in Everything” is our vision as we take Earls Barton Primary School to the next level in all that we do. I am proud to lead this school and of the improvements we have made and the exciting plans we have for the next three years. We hope to involve the wider community more in the work that we do and would welcome hearing from any individual or business who could help our school in any way: forge links; volunteer, sponsor school projects or work as a community governor. If you would like more information, please contact the school office to discuss.

The children have started back to school with an excellent attitude to their learning in all they do. Already we have had swimming trips, choir rehearsals, music clubs, celebration assemblies with lots more exciting events upcoming.

We were delighted to welcome our newest cohort of seventy Reception children into our school community this year and they have settled beautifully into their newly-created and calmer classroom environments. We continue to enhance our outdoor learning provision and this is also one of our key priorities for the year ahead.

Due to popular demand, we have added a before and after school club / wraparound care provision to our school and this is helping working parents and carers juggle family life. We are delighted to have secured Happy Hols (an Ofsted good and outstanding provider in other settings) to work with us. Breakfast club is open from 7:30am and after school continues until 6pm in our school hall and playground.

We have set our open dates for the next intake of Reception children who will join our school in September 2023! If you have a child (or know a child) who is going to be four years old by 1st September 2023 and would be interested in looking around our school and learning more, please do let them know about our open dates. Tours can be booked via Eventbrite and the details are on our school website. We look forward to meeting you and showing you our wonderful school in action! The open event will consist of a presentation by the headteacher and a tour led by our Year Six tour guides.

Yet again, our children and school community have joined together and shown our school values to commemorate and reflect on the death of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The day after the Queen died, we held assemblies in school to reflect on her life and reign and discussed this with the children. Each class has contributed a page to a special commemorative memorial book which we hope to display locally so more people get to see the wonderful tributes, memories and reflections our very young children have about the remarkable life of our Queen. We also involved the children in our front of school display on Broad Street which shows 70 hearts to represent the Queen’s 70 year-reign and one word from each class which shows what the Queen meant to them. We are also planning a more permanent memorial in school and will be led by the children on this.
